Where Food & Fun Meet

Saturday July 22 - 3 PM TO 8 PM
Boom Island Park
724 Sibley St. NE Minneapolis, MN 55413

Minneapolis is becoming known for its incredible craft brewing scene and for its diverse and delicious food options. At Mess Hall, we're celebrating both during an afternoon along the Mississippi River that is full of Nosh & Noms the way we Minneapolitans like it. Enjoy food, beverages and AquaJam skateboarding at Boom island throughout the afternoon leading up to the Aquatennial Target Fireworks at 10 pm!

  • Potter’s Pasties

Potter’s was born in 2011. Chef Alec Duncan met his English (now wife) Fiona in Peru while teaching English at the same school. They moved to Vietnam for 3 years, and that’s where he perfected the famous pastie dough. They moved back to the states in 2011, and here we are today – 4 trucks and a brick and Mortar store front. Fiona is the inspiration behind the British Food. Alec has been cooking his whole life and was the Head Chef at Cesare’s in Stillwater, and held line cook positions at 128 Cafe and Cafe Barbette.

  • Turbo Taco

Turbo Tacos are the fattest most flavorful tacos anywhere.  Inspired by  fresh fish tacos from Southern California.  We serve beer battered Cod, Marinated Steak, Crab Cake poppers,  and fried Avocado,  just to name a few.  Come get some…

  • Fulton Beer

Fulton Beer was founded by four homebrewers in a Southwest Minneapolis garage in 2009 with the mantra “Ordinary Guys Brewing Extraordinary Beer.” Since then, Fulton has become one of the fastest growing breweries in the Midwest. In 2012, Fulton opened the first taproom in Minneapolis, which offers an ever-changing tap selection as well as growlers of beer and house-brewed non-alcoholic soda. Fulton commissioned its second brewery in 2014, a 51,000 square foot facility in Northeast Minneapolis. Fulton is best known for Sweet Child of Vine, a balanced and approachable India Pale Ale, and Lonely Blonde, an easy-drinking Blonde Ale. These and Fulton’s seasonal and limited release beers are currently available on draft, in bottles, and in cans throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, and the Dakotas.  Information regarding beer availability, taproom hours, tours, special events and more can be found at www.fultonbeer.com.

  • Lakes & Legends Brewing Company

Lakes & Legends was born from the idea that we could make high-quality, farm-to-table beer that would raise the expectations and expand the possibilities of what you could get from a beer. We love the improvisational spirit of Belgian farmhouse beers and the storied tradition of Trappist beers, and we couldn’t think of a better base from which to start (not to mention they’re our favorite beers to drink!). Lakes & Legends will be introducing a special Strawberry Rhubarb wheat beer at Mess Hall—born on the farm and brewed in Minnesota!

  • Sociable Cider Werks

Sociable Cider Werks is driven by a pretty simple vision.  Cider should be much more than the lightly-alcoholic, made-from-concentrate, sweet apple juice boxes that currently dominate the shelf space.  Sociable ciders are well carbonated, dry and always made from real apples.  Simply put, they should be enjoyed like great draught beer. Sociable is not just hard cider, we’re much more.

  • AquaJam

Just steps away from Mess Hall, enjoy Aquatennial’s popular skateboarding event! The AquaJam, based off the popular Aquatennial skateboarding event of the 1980s, is returned in 2016 to rave reviews and will again be at Boom Island on Saturday, July 22. From 3-6 pm, there will be open skate for the public. And from 6-8 pm, enjoy a skate competition unlike any other. Enjoy Cash 4 Tricks, High Hippie Jumps, barrel jumping, a 30-foot mini-ramp and more—all right next to your Mess Hall food & drinks!
